Kolkata, Sept. 27 -- A controversy has erupted over the Santosh Mitra Square Durga Puja, which was inaugurated by union Home Minister Amit Shah. Organisers today alleged that Kolkata Police were restricting pandal-hoppers from videographing the central theme, "Operation Sindoor," an allegation denied by Police Commissioner Manoj Verma.

Chief organiser and BJP Councillor Sajal Ghosh told reporters that the city police had allegedly narrowed the paths leading to the venue by erecting barricades up to 3.5 km away.

"Besides, the police are also seeking details from the projectors about GST clearance and other papers," Ghosh alleged during a hurriedly called media conference.
