Srinagar, April 30 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Leh on Thursday on a two day visit. He is scheduled to attend the first-ever international exposition of the holy relics of Lord Buddha on Friday.

The sacred relics will be opened for rare public veneration from May 1, with the exposition continuing till May 15, during which they will travel across several locations. Notably, this marks the first time these revered relics will be displayed within India outside their secure confines.

The Home Minister was received by Ladakh Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena at Airport in Leh.
