Kolkata, April 2 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Kolkata late Wednesday night ahead of a high-profile political programme in the city on Thursday where he is scheduled to accompany BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari during the filing of his nomination as the party's candidate from Bhabanipur.
According to BJP sources, Shah's flight landed at Kolkata airport around 12:30 am on Thursday.
He left the airport for his hotel at approximately 12:50 am and stayed there overnight. The party also shared a video of his arrival on social media.
Adhikari will file his nomination after holding a roadshow in Bhabanipur, considered the political stronghold of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on Thursday.
