Hyderabad, Aug. 14 -- Even as heavy rains continued to lash several districts in Telangana, mild tremors were felt at various places in Vikarabad district in the early morning.
The earthquake measuring 3.1 magnitude on the Richter scale reportedly hit Qutbullapur, Basireddypally, Rangapur, Nyamatnagar, Parigi and other areas around 3.45 am. The quake recorded by the National Centre for Seismology had its epicentre west of the Qutbullapur village in farmlands at a depth of 10 km.
According to the official sources, there are no reports of loss of life or property damage. Residents of many areas reported that the tremors were felt for a few seconds.
