Srinagar, Feb. 18 -- Amid forecast of rain and snow from Wednesday, the night cold continues to grip the Kashmir Valley, with all weather stations recording sub-zero temperatures on Tuesday, an officials said.
Night temperatures across the valley dropped by 1-2degC, with Srinagar shivering at -0.8degC, which is 2.1degC below the seasonal average.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Srinagar, light to moderate rain and snowfall are expected at many places across Jammu and Kashmir on February 19 and 20, bringing a possibility of further temperature fluctuations.
There hasn't been any major snowfall in Kashmir thus winter and this has resulted in a deficit of rain and snowfall upto 70 to 75% .
