Shimla, July 21 -- With no respite from the ongoing spell of torrential rains, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today, took feedback over telephone from the Deputy Commissioners, to assess the situation affecting various districts in the state.

In the light of prevailing weather conditions, he directed them to remain alert and take proactive measures to avert any untoward incidents.

He also urged the people not to go nearer to the rivers and nullahas during the rainy season.

"People's safety is our foremost priority. I request everyone to avoid going near water bodies and to strictly follow all advisories issued by the district administration", he said.
