Srinagar, Jan. 27 -- Amid tight security, 77th Republic Day was celebrated with traditional zeal and fervour across Kashmir today.
Security was beefed up across Kashmir, with barricades erected as part of Republic Day arrangements in city.
The main function in the valley was held at Bakshi stadium where J&K's Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary unfurled the tricolour and took the salute at the march-past, officials said.
In Baramulla, the main function was held at District Police Lines (DPL), where the Agriculture Minister Javaid Dar unfurled the National Flag in the presence of DIG North Kashmir Maqsood-ul-Zamaan, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, SSP Baramulla, and senior officers of the civil and police administration.
