Shimla, Nov. 19 -- Himachal Pradesh government has notified an increase in the travelling allowance of Ministers, implementing a decision approved in 2024 but delayed due to the state's financial crisis. The notification has been issued days before the winter session.

Under the revised rules, Ministers will now receive Rs 25 per kilometre as mileage allowance, up from Rs 18, for travel in both hilly and plain areas. The daily allowance for official tours has also been increased from Rs 1,800 to Rs 2,500.

The amendments have been issued under the Salaries and Allowances of Ministers Act, 2000, and will be known as the Himachal Pradesh Ministers' Travelling Allowance (Amendment) Rules, 2025.
