Agartala, Feb. 20 -- Addressing East and Northeast Regional Official Language conference in Agartala on Friday, union Home Minister Amit Shah hinted at the Centre's preference for the 'Nagari' (Devnagari) script for the tribal 'Kokborok' language of Tripura.
The conference was attended by delegates from all eight states of the northeastern region, along with dignitaries from Delhi, including Minister of State (Home) Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Anshuli Arya, Secretary in the Department of Official Language under the union Home Ministry, along with Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, former Chief Minister and MP Biplab Kumar Deb.
