Washington, March 31 -- Americans are more satisfied with President Donald Trump's immigration policy than with what he is doing in the economy, according to an AP/NORC poll published on Monday.
"About half of adults approve of how Trump is handling immigration, exceeding his approval on the issue during his first term. But 40% approve of his handling of the economy, dropping to its lowest level since December of 2017," the poll said.
Overall, 42% of Americans approved of Trump's job performance and 56% disapproved. Along party lines, 82% of the Republicans support him, while only 16% of the Democrats share this view.
