New Delhi, Nov. 3 -- US-based IT organization Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) reported 'RDSEED' failure on its Zen 5 processors, an official AMD blog said.
An 'RDSEED Failure' occurs when the CPU's RDSEED instruction, which is designed to provide high-quality random numbers from a hardware entropy source.
On the other hand, Zen 5 processors refer to AMD's next-generation CPU architecture, which is powering both desktop as well as mobile chips.
The blog said, " AMD was notified of a bug in 'Zen 5 processors' that may cause the RDSEED instruction to return zero at a rate inconsistent with randomness while incorrectly signalling success, indication a potential misclassification of failure as a success.
