Ambedkar was leader of weaker sections, not of any one caste: Prof Devinder

Dharamshala, Dec. 24 -- - Vice-Chancellor of Dr B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Haryana, Prof. Devinder Singh, on Tuesday said that Babasaheb Ambedkar was not the leader of any particular caste but a champion of all weaker and marginalised sections of society.

He said Ambedkar's strong commitment and courage towards women's empowerment proved that his concern went beyond caste boundaries.

Prof Singh was speaking on the topic "Hindu Code Bill: An Untouched Dimension of Social Harmony" during the second session of Ambedkar Samvadmala 2025-26, organised by the Ambedkar Studies Centre of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh.
