Mysuru, Nov. 25 -- Accusing the Congress of selectively invoking B R Ambedkar while undermining his ideals, Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy on Tuesday said the grand old party remembers the maker of India's Constitution only because they fear losing Dalit votes.
"They take Ambedkar's name, but the betrayal came from them. For years they didn't even keep his photo in their offices. Only fear of losing the Dalit vote made them remember him," the BJP leader said.
Addressing reporters here, Narayanaswamy said, "It was the Congress that defeated Babasaheb in his first election. A hurt Ambedkar had said the Congress was like a burning house, and those who entered it would have no future. Today,...
