Srinagar, July 12 -- A Amarnath pilgrim from Ludhiana Punjab went missing during the early hours today in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district, prompting a search operation by multiple rescue agencies.
The missing yatri has been identified as Surinder Pal Arora, a resident of Ludhiana, Punjab.
Police said Arora was part of a group of seven pilgrims and was descending the route around 12:30 am when he reportedly began showing signs of high-altitude sickness.
"He started behaving erratically-running up and down, taking cold water showers-and eventually jumped off a railing near Z-Morh, near to a glacier," police said.
