Srinagar, July 30 -- The Shri Amarnathji Yatra has been suspended for today from both Pahalgam and Baltal base camps due to incessant rainfall in the region.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, said due to heavy continuous rains since early morning, Yatra has not been released on the tracks from both the base camps Baltal in Ganderbal and Nunwan/ Chandanwari in Anantnag districts.

Despite today's suspension, this year's Amarnath Yatra has so far witnessed a strong turnout, with over 3.93 lakh devotees having paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine.

Authorities are closely monitoring the weather and tracking conditions.
