Nagpur, Dec. 12 -- Maharashtra BJP President Ravindra Chavan said on Friday that the party's top leadership has issued clear instructions that an electoral alliance must be done before the upcoming municipal corporation elections, scheduled to take place by January 31.

Chavan said senior leaders, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, have held extensive deliberations on the issue. "We have been categorically told by our seniors that an alliance should be finalized at any cost ahead of the civic polls," he noted.
