Lucknow, Oct. 28 -- The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has taken a serious note of the non-payment of compensation to a minor rape victim under a government scheme.
The court ordered officials to pay the victim a compensation of Rs 3 lakh within three days, as per the rules, and to provide an additional compensation of Rs 2 lakh within 15 days for the delay. The court also granted the state government the freedom to recover Rs 2 lakh from those responsible for the delay and to take departmental action against them.
