Prayagraj, Oct. 27 -- The Allahabad High Court has granted major relief to Samajwadi Party MP from Sambhal, Zia-ur-Rehman Barq, by staying the proceedings of a trial court in connection with an alleged violation of the Election Model Code of Conduct during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
The next hearing in the case has been scheduled for December 8.
The order was passed by a single bench of Justice Sameer Jain here today.
The court has also sought responses from the state government and other respondents by the next date of hearing.
