Prayagraj, April 1 -- In an important decision by the Allahabad High Court in the 1976 Noida land acquisition case, the Court increased compensation for farmers.

Farmers received relief from the Allahabad High Court after 44 years. The court ordered an increase in compensation for farmers' land from Rs. 6 to Rs. 28.12 per square yard.

This order was passed by a single bench of Justice Sandeep Jain while hearing a petition filed by Ram Karan and others on Wednesday.

The court issued this decision regarding the land in Morna village, Pargana, and Tehsil Dadri, which previously fell within Ghaziabad district and now falls within Noida.
