Prayagraj, Oct. 13 -- The Allahabad High Court today granted interim relief to former Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA from Sisamau, Kanpur, Irfan Solanki, in an extortion and land-grabbing case.
Hearing Solanki's petition, the Allahabad High Court stayed the trial court proceedings until further orders. The matter was heard by a single bench of Justice Sameer Jain here today.
Solanki had filed a petition seeking to quash the entire trial court proceedings in the extortion case registered in 2022.
Vimal Kumar lodged an FIR at the Jajmau police station in December 2022 against the SP leaders and others.
