Prayagraj, Sept. 19 -- The Allahabad High Court has extended the interim stay of trial by the lower court against senior Samajwadi Party leader and former Prayagraj MP Kunwar Rewati Raman Singh till October 15 next.

The single bench of Justice Sameer Jain hearing the case extended the interim stay as Uttar Pradesh government has sought time to file a counter affadavit.

The court has set October 15 for the next hearing.

On August 21, Rewati Raman Singh received interim relief from the Allahabad High Court. The SP leader had filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court seeking quashing of all trial court proceedings in the case filed against him.
