Shimla, Oct. 17 -- The Shimla district administration has issued an instruction under which it will be mandatory for sweets sold during the festive season in the capital to be marked with an expiry date. The district administration has issued instructions to mark all the sweets with a best-before date (a date indicating that the product will remain at its best taste and quality until that date) on all sweets.
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap held a meeting with the SDM regarding Diwali preparations. He directed inspections of markets for the sale of sweets during the festive season. The Food Supply Department team will inspect wholesale and retail sweet shops.
