Hyderabad, Jan. 30 -- Padma Shri awardee and noted child rights activist Shanta Sinha on Thursday night asserted that every child who remains outside the formal education system must be considered a child labourer, describing it as a grave failure of society.

She was speaking as the Chief Guest at the 36th Annual Day Cultural Meet of Sister Nivedita School, held at Shilpakala Vedika.

Addressing parents and educators, Shanta Sinha stressed that parental responsibility goes far beyond enrolling children in schools. "Children are the most valuable asset of any family. Safeguarding their childhood, nurturing curiosity and ensuring holistic development is a shared responsibility," she said.
