Chennai, Jan. 2 -- Amid disturbing reports of recurring Tiger--the National animal--deathsin several states in the country, the Tamil Nadu in a bid to preserve its population and survivalwill be conducting the All India Tiger Estimation (AITE) as a nationally coordinated exercisefrom January five to February four.

Official sources said AITE is being conducted once every four years by the National TigerConservation Authority (NTCA) and the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) with the activeparticipation of the Forest Department.

It is the world's largest wildlife monitoring initiative and holds a Guinness World Recordfor its extensive participation from both the public and institutions.
