Kolkata, March 28 -- On Saturday, as the whole world observes 'Earth Hour', leaders and activists from all political hues in Assembly poll-bound West Bengal came on the same dias to exchange dialogue on climate crisis, natural loss and the need for sustainability.
The speakers underscored West Bengal's geographical diversity, stretching from the Himalayas in the north and the Bay of Bengal in the south, noting the state stands extremely vulnerable to the vagaries of climate change. Pollution, particularly air, but also other forms such as river pollution, groundwater contamination, noise, waste management, etc., is at a critical level.
