Mumbai, July 21 -- In a significant verdict, the Bombay High Court has acquitted all the 12 accused in the 2006 Mumbai local train serial blasts case today.

The court observed that the investigating agencies failed to present any concrete evidence to substantiate the charges against the accused.

The horrific incident occurred on July 11, 2006, when seven blasts ripped through local trains across Mumbai's western suburbs. The coordinated explosions killed over 187 people and injured more than 700.

Initial investigations pointed to the involvement of terrorist outfits, Lashkar-e-Taiba and SIMI, leading to charges against 12 individuals.
