Basti (UP), Oct. 15 -- An alert has been issued along the India-Nepal border in view of the Diwali festival and the Ayodhya Deepotsav, a senior officer said today.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Basti region, Sanjeev Tyagi, said that the Siddharth Nagar district of the Basti region is adjacent to the Nepal border. "Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel are maintaining constant vigil along the border," he said.
He said that the Deepotsav is being held in Ayodhya on October 20, where a large number of devotees will arrive. "A security alert has also been issued in Basti district during this period. All police stations and outposts along the border will remain vigilant and will keep a close watch on all movement," he said.
