Melbourne, Jan. 15 -- Top seeds Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka have been handed contrasting opening-round opponents at the 2026 Australian Open following the release of the main draw on Thursday.
According to Olympics.com, men's world No. 1 Alcaraz will begin his campaign against Australian Adam Walton, a home favourite, while women's top seed Sabalenka has been drawn against French wild card Tiantosa Rakotomanga Rajanoah in the first round of the season's first Grand Slam, which gets underway on Sunday.
Alcaraz, who has already won three of the four Grand Slam titles, will be chasing the Australian Open crown, the only major missing from his collection.
