Shillong, Sept. 18 -- The All Meghalaya Khasi Tourist Taxi Association (AKMTTA) todaycalled off its indefinite strike banning Assam-registered vehicles from ferrying tourists to popular destinations in the State.

AKMTTA withdrew its agitation, which started from September 16, following a fruitful meeting with the meeting with East Khasi Hills district Deputy Commissioner, R.M. Kurbah, Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem and Superintendent of Police (Shillong City), Herbert Lyngdoh.

AKMTTA spokesperson, Balajied Jyrwa told reporters that the association would be holding a meeting with other government officials on September 24 and discuss their demands.
