Bengaluru, Nov. 16 -- Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday criticised the BJP's Rs 10,000 welfare scheme for women in Bihar and other states, describing it as a short-term electoral tactic rather than a step toward genuine development.
Speaking to the media, Akhilesh said the scheme, which the BJP claims has secured significant support from women voters, does not address fundamental issues such as family stability and long-term welfare.
"They claim to have received substantial support from women voters, but welfare measures alone cannot replace a government's duty to ensure dignity and stable family structures. Rs 10,000 cannot give them a life of respect," he remarked.
