New Delhi, Oct. 19 -- Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has voiced strong criticism following the recent revelation regarding the Banke Bihari temple's treasury, which was found to contain only a few silver utensils and items after remaining unopened for 54 years.

Standing firmly in support of the revered temple, Yadav urged the BJP government to refrain from interfering with the temple's funds, warning against greed and unnecessary controversy.

"I have made a heartfelt appeal to the BJP government... Please, at the very least, leave the temple treasuries alone... Such avarice doesn't look good. It's truly unfortunate," he wrote on his WhatsApp channel today.
