New Delhi, March 9 -- Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday criticised the union government over reports that Indian journalists who travelled with Narendra Modi to Israel remain stranded amid the ongoing conflict, saying they had gone as political reporters but were now being forced to function as war correspondents.

In a message shared on his WhatsApp channel, Yadav said the journalists had accompanied the prime minister in their professional capacity but were now caught in a volatile situation. "The Indian journalists who are stranded in Israel had gone there with the Prime Minister as political journalists, but now they are being forced to become war journalists," he said.
