Chandigarh, Dec. 4 -- Former Punjab minister and senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia suffered a major setback after the Punjab and Haryana High Court refused to grant him bail on Thursday.
With no relief from the High Court, his legal team is now expected to approach the Supreme Court for relief. The court has not yet released the detailed order.
Majithia, who was arrested on June 25, has been in jail for the past five months. Meanwhile, a Mohali court is set to hear a petition related to declaring his brother-in-law, Gajpat Singh Grewal, a proclaimed offender.
