Sangli, Feb. 1 -- Nationalist Congress Party-(NCP-SP) senior leader and MLA Jayant Patil said that late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar wanted to unite both the NCP factions and had expressed this desire in meetings in the last six months.
Talking with media persons, Patil, narrating the developments during the last six months, said that senior leader Sharad Pawar had wanted the merger during his lifetime. "Sharad Pawar had entrusted the responsibility of it to me. A meeting of leaders was held in Baramati to prepare for it. We were going to fly for that.
