Mumbai, Aug. 15 -- Deputy Chief Minister and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) chief Ajit Pawar today said he was unaware of Suraj Chavan being promoted to the post of his party's State General Secretary despite his earlier resignation. Pawar assured that he would look into the matter and take appropriate action.
Chavan had resigned as the party's state spokesperson and Youth Wing president following Pawar's directive, after Chavan allegedly assaulted Chhava organisation office-bearers who had protested against Minister Manikrao Kokate playing rummy in the legislature.
However, in a recent core committee meeting - which Pawar said he did not attend - Chavan was appointed State General Secretary.
