Mumbai, March 17 -- Deputy Chief and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar said in the Maharashtra Assembly on Monday that the Grand Alliance government's the most popular 'Ladki Bahin' scheme will not be discontinued but will be amended.

Replying to allegation of the opposition that the scheme will be closed in the lower house, he reaffirmed that this scheme will not be closed but will be amended.

Taking another step forward towards women empowerment, he suggested that women who want to start a small or big business, they should take out a loan from organisations such as the Women's Economic Development Corporation or the district cooperative banks in the state by adding the Ladki Bahin scheme, he said.
