Varanasi, Feb. 24 -- Congress state president Ajay Rai on Tuesday visited Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of Jyotish Peeth at Shri Vidyamath.
Rai said that the insult to Shankaracharya is an insult to the entire Sanatan Dharma. Citing photographs of police officers celebrating birthdays with the accusers, he said, "These people have committed a grave sin."Rai further said that saints and Brahmins are being insulted under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. Those who protect the religion and raise their voice on religious issues are being suppressed.
