New Delhi, Nov. 16 -- The romantic comedy 'De De Pyaar De 2' opened in theatres on November 14 with a slow start in its morning and afternoon shows, but saw a notable uptick in audience turnout by the evening.

Despite the improvement, its opening-day earnings were slightly lower than those of the first film.

Starring Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and R. Madhavan, the sequel benefitted from stronger footfall at multiplexes, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who noted that the film's weekend growth will be key to its overall performance.

As per Adarsh's figures, 'De De Pyaar De 2' collected Rs 9.45 crore on Day 1-just below the opening figures of the 2019 film, which made Rs 10.41 crore including previews.
