Aizawl, March 18 -- Mizoram's dream of being connected to the national Railway network is set to become a reality by July this year, with the much-awaited Bairabi-Sairang broad gauge railway project nearing completion. This was announced by Mizoram's lone Rajya Sabha MP K. Vanlalvena during a discussion on Railway projects in the Upper House on Monday.
Vanlalvena informed the House that he was personally briefed by the Deputy Chief Engineer of Railways, who assured him that the 51.38-km railway line between Bairabi in Assam's border and Sairang near Aizawl would be ready for inauguration by July. He took the opportunity to invite all Rajya Sabha members to attend the grand opening of the railway line.
