Guwahati, April 7 -- The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) today distanced
itself from the comments of its MLA Aminul Islam, who has been arrested by Assam
Police today on allegations of making communal remarks over the spread of novel
coronovirus.
In a statement, an AIUDF spokesperson said the party does not endorse the
statement made by Islam and it was made in his personal capacity.
The spokesperson said as the country is going through a crisis, it is not the time to
make controversial or inflammatory statements.
