Shimla, Oct. 23 -- Air pollution levels in Himachal Pradesh have shown a notable improvement this year compared to last Diwali, with no location in the state recording air quality in the poor or severe category.

According to a report released by the State Pollution Control Board on Monday, pre-Diwali air monitoring conducted between October 13 and 19 indicated cleaner air across the state.

During the Diwali period, ambient air quality data from 12 cities and towns- including Shimla, Parwanoo, Dharamshala, Damtal, Sundernagar, Paonta Sahib, Kala Amb, Una, Baddi, Barotiwala, Nalagarh, and Manali- showed overall satisfactory air conditions, marking a significant improvement in Himachal's environmental quality this festive season.
