Kochi, Sept. 18 -- Air India Express has become a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), reinforcing its commitment to global standards in safety, operations and customer service, even as it expands its fleet and network.
IATA, which represents about 350 airlines from over 120 countries accounting for more than 80 per cent of global air traffic, requires members to be on the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registry.
Air India Express, which has been IOSA-certified since 2017, now takes the next step with full membership.
Welcoming the move, Sheldon Hee, IATA's Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific, said Air India Express' membership would "broaden the perspectives" on global aviation issues.
