Chennai, Jan. 30 -- Officials of the Customs Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) seized
23.48 kg of Ganja valued at Rs 23.5 crore from three passengers--all from same
family-- who arrived from Bangkok at the Anna International Airport here, and
arrested them.
A PIB release said, acting on specific intelligence, the AIU officers, intercepted
three Indian passengers (Two men and one woman of the same family), who had
arrived from Bangkok.
Upon search of their check-in baggage, 23.48 kg of hydroponic ganja was found
concealed in frozen fruits packaging which is valued at Rs. 23.5 crores in illicit
market.
All the three passengers were arrested under the NDPS Act.
They were later produced before a Judicial Magistrate and remanded in judicia...
