New Delhi, March 23 -- An Air Canada Express aircraft collided with a fire truck at New York's LaGuardia Airport on Monday (India time), leaving several people injured. The pilot and co-pilot are feared to have died in the incident.

Arriving from Montreal, the CRJ-900 aircraft collided with a fire truck at a speed of around 24 miles per hour (39 km/h), according to Flightradar24.

Following the incident, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) halted all flight operations at the airport, according to a notice issued by the regulator.

While the notice did not specify details, it suggested the directive was issued in response to an emergency, with the possibility of the suspension being prolonged.
