Hyderabad, Nov. 26 -- Doctors at the Asian Institute of Nephrology & Urology (AINU), Banjara Hills, successfully removed multiple stones from the kidney of an eight-year-old boy from Warangal using a single-session Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) procedure, a release stated on Wednesday.

The child had been admitted with severe abdominal pain and fever, and scans later revealed that his left kidney was completely packed with stones.

Dr P Ashwin Shekhar, Consultant Pediatric & Transitional Urologist at AINU, who led the surgery, said the stones were cleared through a tiny incision with minimal pain and faster recovery compared to conventional surgical methods.
