Mumbai, Jan. 26 -- The political controversy surrounding references to the colour green escalated in Mumbai on January 26, with Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane making sharp remarks targeting AIMIM leaders Asaduddin Owaisi and Imtiaz Jaleel, amid an ongoing debate triggered by statements made in the Mumbra area.
Rane said that instead of speaking about the colour green, AIMIM leaders should adopt Hinduism, adding that they would be accepted if they chose to do so. He asserted that only the saffron colour holds significance in Maharashtra, describing it as a symbol of victory associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He further warned that anyone speaking about green in the state would be shown their place by the public.
