Shillong, May 15 -- The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has granted approval to the Shillong Government College of Engineering for starting undergraduate courses in civil engineering and electrical engineering for the academic year 2025-26, an official said on Thursday.
Shillong Government College of Engineering is the first government engineering college in Meghalaya, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on January 16, 2023.
The new institution will be set up at Mawlai Kynton Massar in East Khasi Hills district and will function under the academic affiliation of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong.
