Chennai, Nov. 20 -- At a time when Indian chess players spend lakhs of rupees to play in rated tournaments, uncertainty hangs over the conduct of the country's prestigious and mega tournament, the Delhi International Open Grandmasters Chess Tournament 2026 or Delhi Chess Open.
The Delhi Chess Association has been conducting the Delhi Chess Open for more than 20 years, and the 22nd edition is slated for January 2026.
However, the All India Chess Federation (AICF) has not given the event code to date, even though the Delhi Chess Association had applied for the same several months back.
