Bengaluru, July 16 -- The Congress today made a politically charged call to break the 50 percent cap on reservations for Other Backward Classes (OBCs), urging the central government to facilitate enhanced representation in education, employment, and political sectors.

The demand was placed at the centre of the party's Bengaluru Declaration, passed unanimously at the inaugural meeting of the AICC OBC Advisory Council under the leadership of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, held in Bengaluru.
