Guwahati, July 5 -- The BJP led government in Assam has decided to name two flyovers in the city after King Bhagadutta.
Bhagadutta was the son of Narakasura, the King of ancient Kamrup kingdom or the present-day Assam. Epics like Mahabharat have reference to King Bhagadutta, who had fought for the Kauravs in the Kurukshetra war.
Assam Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that the government has decided to name the two flyover-- the flyover at Supermarket and the newly built flyover at Downtown after the legendary king of Pragjyotishpur.
